Ok first off please ignore my freakishly dry hands and concentrate on the adorable ring on my finger. It is by my good friend Kate. I didn't pay too much attention to it when she stopped by today and dropped off tons and tons of new stuff but I was just going past the ring display and this kitty made me smile so big I had to put him on my ugly finger. I don't even really care for cats too much but this bad boy is now mine. So besides him Kate brought in oddles of yummy stuff including earrings! I've never had her earrings in my store so I am excited about this. I really had no clue on how I would display them and then poof a tennis racket fell off a shelf in my very cluttered backroom/studio. Look how cute that freaking display is. Come on in and check out Kate's stuff....now....it's cold and I am bored and lonely.

Christmas ornaments.

I just finished this little ornament and loved it so I wanted to share. Of course it's the end of the day so I have to wait until tomorrow to make more. I always create these fun things at the end of the day.

I got all these great kids books yesterday at Vinnie's. I liked them all but Franky was really the best. Now what to do with them.... what to do?????

Oh and yes Franky really is fuzzy in all the pages...he he.

Hats hats hats.

So when Molly was sick I went on a hat making spree so I decided to list one on etsy. This is my beautiful model Nadia and she is wearing one of my free form crocheted hats that would be cool without the felt pin but you get that too! It is only $18. Pretty much all of my hats are $15-$20. It's cold outside you might as well look good keeping warm.

I also have a fun creepy window display with a bunch of heads with different hats so check that out if you are in the area. I got a bunch of scary heads at an estate sale a few weeks ago and just love them. They remind me of masks that bank robbers might wear.

Nadia here in the picture has been with me for about 7 years now. I got her back in Baraboo from St Vinnies and payed a whopping $30 for her. She was one of the very few items that moved with us when we moved back to Manitowoc. She is just a head and torso no arms. Molly sometimes talks to her and I think that is really cute.

I love old chrome tables and I adore the color yellow so can you imagine how happy I was when my friend Margarette had her husband drop this beauty off at the store!!! I love it because of the two reasons stated before but also because it is a perfect crafting table and just the right size for Persimmons. Molly already broke it in with a sharpie but someone told me if you use a dry erase marker over a sharpie stain it'll take it off so I will have to give that a try...or maybe not.

Black Friday

Well it's Black Friday. I am sitting in my living room watching the local news station and reports of all those crazy people who go out to the big box stores at 4 am. This is the first year I am going to be open for this huge shopping day but I have a strong feeling people won't be breaking down my door to get in. I of course wouldn't really ever expect or want that mad rush of people but watching all those people spend money on things that don't matter makes me a little sad. Really you can get a custom painting, personalized ornament, or handcrafted hat and scarf here. If you know the person you are buying a gift for these are gifts people will cherish and remember.

Slacker.

I am a slacker on the blog front lately. Life. Molly has been really weepy complaining her teeth and mouth hurt for a couple of days. So I noticed this morning she had blisters on her hands and decided to take her to the doctor because I also noticed a blister in her mouth. Turns out she has hand foot mouth disease. So I had to close the store today and may have to Monday and Tuesday as well....sorry if you tried to shop but she really has to come first. Poor thing can't even really eat right now because it hurts her too much and she cries a lot. So keep her in your thoughts.

Junk Drawer Pendants.

Just listed this one in my etsy shop.
There are many more to come. I just wanted to use some of this stuff I have lying around for something useful. They are a lot of fun to make so I have made about 50 in the last week. One of them I had had an expired dog tag that looks neat...great gift for pet lovers! I will even make custom pendants just bring in your own little junk!

I am also putting together some Christmas ornaments with a similar feel. I have been a very creative lady lately .... and I like it.

Recycle.

So Wednesday is ARD...America Recycles Day.

I am going to have fun recycled art demonstrations all day long. You can even make and take home your own recycled art charm bracelet for only $15. It really got me thinking about little things I could do to make a few green moves. I am a magazine freak. I love them and get many. I sell a lot of small items and just thought how can I use these magazines and came up with these small bags. Yeah it'll take me some time to make them but it will pretty much be free and I will feel good about it too. I have also recently gotten canvas bags for shopping...now if I could remember to bring them to the store! We can really all make small changes that will make a difference.

Pendant crazy....

....is what I am. I am totally and completely addicted to making pendants right now. These little flowers that I have been making for a little while now really look cute in these pendants. I added a little ephemera and stamped the glass and here is what I came up with. I have been doing a lot of experimenting with this and have a few really fun stuff coming....so cool I don't know if I want to show anyone because I know there will be copying! So I will send some to a few magazines before I sell them so I can get some credit for the cool idea.

So our Sputnikfest site is almost done and will be live soon. You will find a few things that crafty people will be interested in like the form for the Artta This World fine art and indie craft fair and also the form for the Sputnikfest art contest. We also have a blog that is not too active right now but we will be filling it with fun Sputnik and space age stories. A not so good night tonight.

I had enough of someone tonight who is always mean to me and others. I feel bad because I stooped to name calling but that is all I feel bad about. Why is it that we as people feel like we have to tip toe around some individuals in the fear that we may hurt their feelings despite the fact that they over and over treat others rudely? I am not doing it anymore...if you treat me bad I am going to return the favor. That's all. Just needed to get that out.
