So my friend Geri brought me two huge boxes of goodies after purging her craft room. The boxes were full of stamps, stamp pads, old books, and tons and tons of vintage beads....love her! Well in that box was also some polymer clay. The stuff has always fascinated me. I just could not comprehend how those pictures could possibly be created out of clay. You know those fancy millifori (not sure on that spelling) beads and such. It just seems so complicated. I was really curious since Artigras in Green Bay a few weeks ago when I met a polymer artist who had the wackiest most crazy work I have seen so far. It reminded me of my favorite childhood show Pee Wee's Playhouse for some reason. I even bought a mermaid from that artist... who's card I of course cannot find. Well my good friend Annette was at the shop Friday for our weekly coffee chat and decided she would show me how to make these canes out of clay. She use to make them and sell the stuff like mad when she lived in Key West. She was a little excited when she started playing and my excitement grew as I figured out this crazy cool technique. I am hooked (for the time being)!
